Real estate, mobile home taxes due

First half real estate and mobile home taxes were due September 1, 2019, and must be paid by September 30, 2019. A penalty of 1.5 percent per month, rounded to the nearest whole dollar, with a $1.00 minimum per parcel, will attach on October 1, 2019.

Statement coupons must accompany payments. Payments may be made in person at the Washington County Treasurer's Office, mailed to the Washington County Treasurer at PO Box 889, Washington, Iowa, 52353, deposited in the drop box located by the west entrance of the courthouse, or paid online with an e-check or credit card at www.iowatreasurers.org.

Payments that are mailed must have a US Postal Service postmark date of September 30, 2019, or before, to avoid penalty. Predated checks will not be accepted as a substitute for the postmark.

The Washington County Treasurer's Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:15 pm.
