Recapping our great summer events
AT THE LIBRARY

August is officially here, and that means the end of summer and the beginning of the school year.
I have had a great summer so far. I loved helping with our summer reading programs and other events. I have also enjoyed reading some really great books this summer. I set a goal in January to read 40 books this year, and so far, I’ve read 25.
Some of my favorites I’ve read this year are: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. This book is about a Hollywood legend who is telling her long awaited story to an unknown reporter. I read this for the first time about two years ago and it is such a great book that I had to read it again.
We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter. This book is about a family’s story during WWII. I thought it was very interesting to see the perspectives of different family members and how they were separated and tried to find each other again. It is also based off a true story.
I’m currently reading The Summer I Turned Pretty by Janny Han. It is about two families on their annual summer vacation, where the main character Belly is caught in a love triangle with the brothers Jeremiah and Conrad.
This has been on my to-be-read list for a while now, but when the second season of the TV series came out, I had to move it to the top of the list. All these books and more are available at the library or on the Libby app. So, soak up the last few weeks of summer with a great book!
