Recipe for ‘critter dough’
Jan. 4, 2022 2:21 pm
Louisa County Conservation celebrated Noon Year’s Eve on Dec. 30 at Chinkapin Bluffs this year. Ten adventuresome folks came out to make treats for the birds, raccoons, and squirrels.
The group explored animals in winter during a scavenger hunt and enjoyed ringing in the “noon” year by tossing bird seed. A blazing fire and hot chocolate kept the group toasty warm.
If you would like to make treats for the critters using Critter Dough, here is the recipe:
1-part smooth peanut butter
1 part cornmeal
1 part flour
1 part water
To make the dough, simply stir the above ingredients together. If it’s too sticky add more flour, too dry add more water. For 8 golf ball size portions, use a 2/3 cup measure.
Character add-ins: nuts, seeds, dried fruit or anything from nature.
