Red Ribbon Week planned
Fairfield elementary schools will be observing Red Ribbon Week beginning Monday.
Each day, the students will be dressing up following a theme to bring attention to the benefits of staying away from drugs and alcohol.
Monday: The theme at Libertyville, Pence and Washington schools is ?Role Model/Celebrity Day.? Students will dress up like their favorite drug-free celebrity/role model.

Fairfield elementary schools will be observing Red Ribbon Week beginning Monday.
Each day, the students will be dressing up following a theme to bring attention to the benefits of staying away from drugs and alcohol.
Monday: The theme at Libertyville, Pence and Washington schools is ?Role Model/Celebrity Day.? Students will dress up like their favorite drug-free celebrity/role model.
Tuesday: The theme at Libertyville and Washington is ?Stuck on Being Drug Free Day.? Students can decorate their clothes with duct tape.
The theme at Pence will be ?Too Bright for Drugs.? Each class will be wearing its own colors. Kindergartners will dress in orange; first graders, yellow; second graders, pink; third graders, green; and fourth graders, blue.
Wednesday: Libertyville and Washington will have their ?Too Bright to Do Drugs Day.?
At Libertyville, kindergartners will wear blue; first graders, orange; second graders, yellow; third graders, green; and fourth graders, neon colors.
At Washington, prekindergartners will dress in black; kindergartners, yellow; first graders, brown/camo; second graders, orange; third graders, green; and fourth graders, blue.
Pence?s Wednesday theme will be ?Follow Your Dreams ? Be Drug Free,? and students can wear their pajamas to school.
Thursday: Libertyville and Washington will have ?Follow Your Dreams Day,? and students can wear their pajamas.
Pence?s Thursday theme will be ?Scare Drugs Away,? and students can dress in Halloween costumes.
Friday: All three schools will have ?Red Spirit Day.? Everyone will wear red to show they are drug and alcohol free.
Students and parents are reminded all clothing must be school appropriate and meet the student handbook guidelines.
Washington school teacher Billy Strickler said students will be receiving a red bracelet to wear all week, and Fairfield Police Department will visit the school Thursday morning to talk with students about the benefits of staying away from drugs and alcohol.
Pence school will be collecting loose change for the Colorado flood victims. Donations can be dropped off in the office.
Fairfield Middle School observed Red Ribbon Week this week. The students dressed in red today to show they are drug and alcohol free.
