Rees family welcomes baby boy

New baby

Congratulations to Jared and Kasey Rees on the birth of their son, Jacob Leonard Rees, born December 21, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Jake arrived at 3:11 a.m. weighing in at 6 lbs. 15 oz. and was 21 inches long. He was welcomed home by his seven year old brother, Khaden.

Grandparents are Linda and Dean Timmons of Washington, Jim and Melinda Rees of Columbus Junction and Rick Lintz of Crawfordsville. Great-grandparents are Delbert and Sandra Rees and Midge Craven, all of Columbus Junction.

Christmas happenings

Wayne and Debbie Lowe entertained their family at Christmas the weekend of Dec. 18. Those home for the early celebration were Karen and Lance Brisky from Lodi, WI; Adrian Brisky and Grace Hurst from River Falls, WI; Kaelyn Brisky from St. Paul, MN and Renee Lowe from Cheyenne, WY.

Greg and Carol Graber celebrated an early Christmas on Dec. 22-23 with their family, Tim and Lisa Graber, Morgan, Cody, Brenna and Logan, Darin and Emily Graber, Garrett, Gabe, Riley, Selah and Blakely of Prairie City and Chris and Gina Petersen, Reagan, Cale, Drew and Emery of Polk City.

Celebrating Christmas on Sunday, Dec. 26 with Arvid and Joan Anderson were their daughter, Kay Trager of West Des Moines, their son and wife, Ed and Leanne Anderson of Nashua, and grandchildren and families, Tim and Shelby Walsten, Tobias, Finley and Anderson from Waterloo.

On Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, Arvid and Joan celebrated their 72nd, wedding anniversary.

The descendents of Henry and Betty Davis met on Christmas Eve at the American Legion hall in Crawfordsville. A delicious potluck supper was served followed by Santa greeting the little kids and handing out gifts for them. The evening was spent playing cards, games and reminiscing.

Dorothy and Virginia Sands joined family members Christmas Day at the home of Rex and LeAnn Felts. Others present were Roy and Amanda Felts and Izzy of Crawfordsville, David and Prynses Felts and Evan of Center Point and Ryan Felts of Arena, WI.

On Christmas Day guests at the home of Scott and Jeanne Davis were Ryan and Carman Davis, Peyton and Paxton; Marcus and Brittany Davis, Makinley, Brysen and Merrick; Angela Davis, Amber Davis and Rececca Buelna.

The evening was spent eating, playing bingo, cards and games.
