Rees family welcomes birth of son William

Jared and Kasey Rees of Columbus Junction became the parents of a son, William Rickey Rees on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the University of Iowa Medical Center Downtown, formerly Mercy Hospital at 4:29 p.m.

Billy arrived weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 20 inches long. He was welcomed by Khayden, 11 years, Jake, 3 years and Lucy, 2 years.

Also welcoming him were grandparents, Jim and Melinda Rees, Columbus Junction; Rick and Julie Lintz, Crawfordsville and Dean and Lindy Timmins of Washington, along with great-grandmother, Mrs Delbert (Sandra) Rees of Columbus Junction.

POSITIVE OFFICE REFERRAL AWARD

Clayton Steele, son of Cory and Katie Steele, a 5th grader at Lincoln Elementary School in Washington recently received the Positive Office Referral Award. The award states that when Clayton puts his mind toward working hard and believing in himself he can do great things! Congratulations, Clayton!! We are all proud of you!!

FIRE DEPARTMENT PANCAKE BREAKFAST

The Crawfordsville Fire Department will host a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the Crawfordsville Fire Station from 6-9 a.m. A Free Will Offering will be taken. Following the breakfast at 9:30 a.m. the Crawfordsville Community Club will host an Easter Egg Hunt at the Crawfordsville Ball Field behind the WACO Elementary School.

CHURCH NEWS

Lenten services will be held beginning with Maundy Thursday services on Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. at the United Church of Crawfordsville; On Good Friday services will be held at the Ainsworth Community Church at 7 p.m and a Sunrise Pancake Breakfast at the United Church of Crawfordsville at 8 a.m., followed by Worship at 9 a.m.

SPRING RUMMAGE SALE

The Spring Rummage Sale will be held Thursday: April 24: 8 a.m -6 p.m.; Friday: April 25: 8 a.m.-6 p..m. and Saturday: April 26: 8 a.m.-noon. Set-up will be Tuesday: April 22 at 9 a.m.

Items can be brought to the church and placed in the northwest room of the church, beginning Tuesday, April 15. Items should be clean and in good condition. NO T.V.'s or COMPUTERS!!!
