4-H juniors filled two nights and two days with outdoor adventures, fun in the sun and team-building activities June 7 ? 9 at Crooked Creek Christian Camp in Washington. Extension?s Region 15 (Iowa, Johnson, Keokuk and Washington counties) work together to offer this camping experience to their fourth-to sixth-grade members.
Washington County had 18 junior members attend the camp with three high school counselors, Katie Palmer, Roman Kiefer, and Joceline Spenner, leading the way. Forty-two other 4-H members joined from Region 15. Each day was filled with a variety of activities including fishing, canoeing, swimming, rock wall climbing and ice cream making.
For many of the junior 4-H members, this was the first time they had been to an overnight camp, which allowed for all kinds of learning and firs- time experiences.
The final evening of camp, each cabin worked closely together to plan, practice, and execute a cabin skit for the Camp Celebration. It was an evening filled with laughter, applause, communication experiences and s?mores!
