The deadline to preregister for the June 30, 2015 special school election to be held in the Washington Community School District is Friday, June 19, at 5 p.m. The worry-free postmark deadline for registration forms submitted by mail would be Monday, June 15. Alternatively, any person who is eligible to vote may register in person on election day by completing a voter registration application, making written oath, and providing proof of both identity and residence. Registration on or before June 19 is strongly encouraged to avoid delays at the polling place.
Residents of Washington County may register at the County Auditor?s Office at the courthouse in Washington or any driver?s license station. The County Auditor?s Office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and until 5 p.m. on June 19. Since office hours of the driver?s license stations vary, it is advisable to call in advance if registering there.
Individuals who are currently registered to vote in Washington County, and who have moved within the county, may change their address at the polls on election day with proper identification but are encouraged to register the change prior to June 19.
