Registration now open for Clover University camps

The Washington County Extension Office has opened its 2021 summer day camp opportunities called Clover University. This summer has options for youth kindergarten-third grade through Fed by Farms day camp and fifth grade and above at babysitting basics.

Fed by Farms
This hands-on day camp teaches children about soil and plants while providing them with opportunities to get their hands dirty planting seeds while conducting experiments and investigating different soil types.
Children will learn about livestock farming from local farmers in our area along with experiencing hands-on tasks involved with livestock farming. Youth will come to learn and appreciate how people are fed by farms.
The cost is $20. Camp is held in the basement of Dallmeyer Hall on the Washington County Fairgrounds.
- Youth just completed Kindergarten to first grade starts June 8, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Youth just completed second to third grade starts June 10, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Babysitting Basics
This is a weeklong course to teach the responsibilities of a babysitter, what employers expect, caring for infants and toddlers, age appropriate toys, how to handle emergencies and basic first aid.
This camp is open to youth who have completed fifth grade. The cost for this babysitting training is $30. Participants will receive a babysitting starter bag full of goodies. Camp is held at the Washington County Extension Office.
- June 14-18, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
- August 2-6, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Space is limited to 20 registrations for each camp. Clover University day camp flyer will be sent home through the schools the week of May 17. Registration completed online on a first come, first served basis at extension.iastate.edu/washington.
Scholarships are available upon request. Make payments to Washington County Extension Office.
