The After School STEM Club is now taking registrations for the February session titled Put a Lid on It: Designing Helmets.
This science club is open to all Keota students in 4th-6th grade. Washington County Extension & 4-H and Keota Elementary are partnering together with support from Keota Elementary Boosters to offer additional and fun ways for Keota youth to interact with science more in a hands-on setting while making new friends and connecting with caring adults in the community.
This club is open to students who wants to experiment more with science, technology, engineering, and math. During the February session titled Put a Lid on It students will diagram the brain and use biomechanical engineering to design helmets for a crash-test dummy helmet challenge.
Registrations accepted on a first come, first serve basis until the session is full. Limited space available. There is a $15 fee made to Keota Elementary Boosters. Registration forms were sent home in backpacks but are available to print at https://tinyurl.com/4HKeotaSTEM23
Please contact the Washington County Extension Office, 319-653-4811 or amygreen@iastate.edu, with questions about this STEM Club or how to get involved with other youth activities in Washington County.
