Registration scheduled for new after-school program

Registration for a new Fairfield after-school program for the 2013-14 school year is planned from 1-3 p.m. Sunday and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Word of Life Lutheran Church.

Registration for the after-school program will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Space is limited to 30 children. If need be, a waiting list will be formed.

Be prepared to pay a deposit of one month?s tuition, which is $130 per child. Of this deposit, $50 will be non-refundable for an administration fee and purchase of program materials. The other $80 will be the tuition for the month of August.

The purpose of the new program is to provide a safe, structured and supervised place for children to go after school. The program is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade and is open to anyone in the community.

Structured activities are planned every day for the children to participate in, including gym games, arts and crafts, homework time as well as some free time. A snack will be served every day.

The program will run from 4-5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday every day the children are in school. Children will get on the bus leaving their school and switch to a bus at Fairfield High School that will take them to the church.
