Registration under way for Agriculture QuickBooks for Producers training

Agriculture QuickBooks training will be held from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday and Jan. 26 at the Jefferson County ISU Extension Office.

Participants will use lap tops to work directly with QuickBooks. The laptops will be provided.

The training will include:

? How to set up QuickBooks using the agriculture chart of accounts.

? How to view and understand income statements and balance sheets.

? Reconcile check book and bank statements.

? How to make corrections.

? How to pay employees.

? Invoicing and accounts receivable management.

? Expense and accounts payable management.

? Recording depreciation expense and loan payments.

? Using items and classes to create divisions as profit centers.

? Using internal transfers between divisions.

? Exporting reports to exel.

The instructor will be Bryan Ziegler from the Small Business Development Center in Ottumwa.

The cost for the two-session program is $20 for Jefferson County residents and $65 for residents outside the county.
