Fairfield Friends plans vacation Bible school

The Fairfield Friends Church is hosting a summer kids' event called Roar Vacation Bible School 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 28 through Thursday, Aug. 1.

The event is open to the public for 4-year-old children through fifth-grade students.

At Roar, kids discover that God is good even when life gets wild.

Check in is at 5:45 p.m. each day.

Family and friends are welcome to join at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 for a program, with refreshments following.

Milton church hosts community cookout

MILTON -- Milton Christian Church is planning a free community cookout at 6 pm. Sunday, July 28 at Milton Park.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks will be served.

Live music is planned.

Community members are invited.
