Iowa Bible Reading Marathon set July 14
Fairfield churches are participating in the Iowa Bible Reading Marathon 2019 July 14.
Each of Iowa's 99 counties will be reading an assigned portion of the Bible outloud beginning at 7:14 a.m. July 14 at their county courthouse. This means the entire Bible will be read over Iowa in a short period of time, concluding by 8:40 a.m.
In Fairfield, the reading begins at 7:14 a.m. July 14 on the Jefferson County Courthouse lawn. Twelve chapters of the Bible will be read aloud.
Everyone is welcome to participate. Bring a Bible and a lawn chair, and arrive by 7 a.m.
In case of rain, the event will be in the First Methodist Church community room.

Time Lab vacation Bible school at First Baptist
First Baptist Church is holding vacation Bible school for all preschoolers through fifth-graders Sunday through Thursday.
The theme is 'Time Lab.”
Children will discover Jesus from eternity past to eternity future as they enjoy songs, crafts, games and goodies.

Vacation Bible school planned in Lockridge
LOCKRIDGE -- The Lockridge community vacation Bible school is planned 5-8 p.m. July 15-17 at Lockridge Community Center.
Potty-trained children through sixth-graders are invited to attend.
The theme is 'Rolling River Rampage.”
Registration will be at 5 p.m., followed by a light meal at 5:15 p.m., then lessons, crafts, games and singing from 5:50-8 p.m.
Money offerings will be donated to Heifer International. Nonperisable foods or paper products will be donated to The Lord's Cupboard. Thrivent Financial Group has donated funds to be used for The Lord's Clupboard.

Lord's Cupboard lists needs for July
The Lord's Cupboard has listed its donation needs for July.
The organization is especially looking for canned beef or cheese ravioli, SpaghettiOs, Chunky soups, peanut butter, canned corn beef or roast beef hash, and 14-ounce or smaller packages of breakfast cereals.
During June, The Lord's Cupboard helped 113 families with full food/supply orders. Those families included 177 adults and 102 children.
The cupboard also distributed a large number of weekly bread-and-protein orders: 502.
The L.O.A.F. Program started June 6, with 126 L.O.A.F. orders distrubuted throughout June. The program will continue through Aug. 16.
The annual Thanksgiving in July communitywide food drive will be July 18-28.
