KC fish fries begin March 1
The Knights of Columbus annual Lenten Fish Fries are planned in March.
The first fish fry will be 5-7 p.m. March 1 at St. Mary Catholic Church.
The menu will include catfish or shrimp or grilled cheese sandwich, baked potato, vegetable, cornbread, dessert and drink.
Proceeds will be used to fund school scholarships.
Additional fish fries are planned from 5-7 p.m. March 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain, then March 22 and March 29 at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Chicken and biscuit supper set in Batavia
BATAVIA - The Batavia United Methodist Church will have a chicken and biscuit supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. March 2.
The menu will include chicken and biscuits, green beans, salads, pie and cake.
A freewill offering will be collected for the meal.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Mt. Pleasant Christian School plans auction
MT. PLEASANT - Mt. Pleasant Christian School will have its annual auction from 9:02 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 2 at the school.
The auction will include family vacations, Iowa State Fair tickets, a driver's education class, baked goods, frozen entrees and more than 100 gift certificates from area businesses.
Food will be available for lunch. The Cattlemen's Association will be grilling on site.
