Free gospel performance Sunday in Douds
DOUDS - Ernie Couch & Revival will perform country gospel music at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at Bethel Worship Center in Douds.
The performance is free.

Soup supper Thursday at First Christian
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will host its monthly soup supper from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The menu includes several different soups, pies, relishes and Kenny's Cornbread.
Proceeds will benefit The Lord's Cupboard.
Free screening of film Nov. 9
The Baha'i of Fairfield is hosting a public screening of 'The Gate: Dawn of the Baha'i Faith” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Fairfield Public Library.
The free film screening will be followed by discussion and refreshments.
The 62-minute documentary combines dramatic re-enactments of 1844 Persia with interviews of renowned historians to tell the true story of The Báb, his message and the origins of a new era in world religion. Directed by Peabody Award-winning filmmaker Bob Hercules, 'The Gate” conveys the indelible impact that The Báb's message continues to have on the world today.
Bladensburg church plans God's Portion Sale
BLADENSBURG - Bladensburg Christian Church will host its 70th annual God's Portion Sale Nov. 10.
Dinner will be served from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The menu will include roast beef, ham, chicken and noodles. Carryout dinners will be available. The auction starts at 7 p.m. Ron Sprouse and Perry Pendroy are the auctioneers. Items will include handcrafted birdhouses, crafts and homemade goods.
Birmingham church plans fall supper
BIRMINGHAM - The Birmingham United Methodist Church will have a fall supper and auction 5-9 p.m. Nov. 10.
The menu will include turkey, ham balls, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, assorted salads and desserts. A free will donation will be collected for the meal.
The auction begins at 7 p.m.
Door prizes will be awarded during the auction.
