MEDIAPOLIS — Today, Rep. Taylor Collins announces his intent to seek re-election to Iowa House District 95 in 2026, encompassing all of Louisa, and large parts of Des Moines, Henry, and Muscatine Counties. Rep. Collins looks forward to continuing to deliver conservative results for Southeast Iowa.
“Over the last three sessions I’ve never wavered in the fight for what is right,” said Rep. Collins. “From easing the tax burden on Iowa families, seniors, and veterans, supporting our law enforcement and cracking down on career criminals, to safeguarding the innocence of our children from far left ideologies, I'm running for re-election to remain the unflinching conservative voice Southeast Iowa needs in Des Moines.”
Collins was first elected to the Iowa House in 2022, and was reelected in a landslide victory of over 42 points in 2024. Before the beginning of the 2025 legislative session, Speaker Grassley formed the House Committee on Higher Education and appointed Collins as Chair. In just one year, Collins successfully led the effort to cap annual tuition increases, established centers dedicated toward civic education on campus, and initiated three year degree and work study programs at Iowa’s regent universities.
In addition to serving as Chair of the Higher Education Committee, Collins also serves as a member of key committees in the Iowa House, including the Appropriations, Government Oversight, State Government, and Natural Resources Committees.
“As long as I’m in the Statehouse, Southeast Iowa can rest assured that our common sense values will be represented in Des Moines,” said Rep. Collins. “I’m asking for your vote because plenty of work remains to make Iowa the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Collins also serves as Executive Director of Economic Development for the Greater Burlington Partnership, and manages the family farm. Rep. Collins holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Iowa State University, and Master’s Degrees in Public Administration and Business Administration from Drake University. Rep. Collins, his wife Savannah, and his daughter Kate reside in Mediapolis.
