Just two short years later she earned her United States citizenship.
Construction work has begun for a new cottage to be built on UPH property at the end of Ash Lane. Excavating has made a large hole to which neighbor, David Draheim reports. He intends to fill it with water and call the DNR to have it stocked with fish. Fishermen in the area think this is a wonderful idea.
The monthly Campus Breakfast was held on Thursday morning in the Town Center. Residents and guests were treated to delicious cinnamon rolls, hearty bacon, sausage and eggs as well as other breakfast favorites.
Classics Et Cetera for Oct. 9, 2014, included the overture to ?Prince Igor? by Alexander Borodin; Adagio in G Minor by Tomaso Albinoni and Remo Giazotto; 2 Shaker Hyms; 2nd Movement of Piano Concerto No. 2 by Ludwig van Beethoven; ?A Perfect Day? by Carrie Jacobs-Bond, performed by Nelson Eddy, baritone; ?Coronation March? from ?The Prophet? by Giacomo Meyerbeer.
The music of Tomaso Albinoni (1671-1760) was admired by his contemporary, J.S. Bach, who made arrangements of some of his works. However, any fame he has today comes from an Adagio in G Major brought to light by his biographer and cataloguer of his music, Remo Giazotto (1919-1998), who said he arranged it from Albinoni?s original work. Giazotto was pressed by musicologists and little by little admitted that it was his own work, but Albinoni?s name continues to be associated with it. The Adagio is truly beautiful and popular today.
