Residents make most of snowy days

Pastor Kwanq Song representing the United Methodist Church provided the weekly chapel service to Halcyon House residents on Sunday, Jan. 20. The sermon title was 'We are New Creatures in Christ.” Scripture from Luke 2-Cor.5:17 was shared with those in attendance. Virginia Tschantz shared her musical talents on the piano.
The residents of Wedgewood are trying to make the most of these snowy days by gathering to play games. Tuesday afternoon, several of the Wedgewood residents played a game of Mexican Train Dominions. Lots of laughs and fellowship were shared. The Wedgewood residents are looking forward to the next game.
Every Thursday and Friday morning, our wonderful volunteer, Richard Colby, graces us with his 'Classics Et Cetera” program. This week we listened to music by composers Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Weiniawski, and Goldman, to name a few. This program is enjoyed by our residents of Rosewood and Independent Living Residents.
Laurie Pemberton hosts a baking class every Thursday afternoon in Arborwood. Residents this past week helped bake crescent cinnamon rolls. The rolls were enjoyed with fresh coffee or hot chocolate.
Halcyon House Wellness Department hosted movie night Saturday, Jan. 19 in the Marshall Game room. Alice George, Gladys Ferguson and several others viewed the movie 'Adrift.” Halcyon House residents are looking forward to the upcoming movie 'Won't You Be My Neighbor.”
Halcyon House Team members will host a Resident Appreciation Luncheon to thank residents for their very generous Christmas gift of money Friday, Jan. 25. Team members will prepare a variety of soups, salads, and desserts for the luncheon. The team members' thank-you cards to the residents will be displayed in Circa59 restaurant.
Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to of Mary Ellen Wright, Clyde Cornelius, Mary Ann Hennigan, Millie Guy, and Harold Steele.
