RETIRED SCHOOL PERSONNEL
The Jefferson County Retired School Personnel met May 22 for a noon luncheon.
President Don Kremer introduced the program speaker, Larry Nash, who spoke on the history of the Maasdam Barns.
The meeting was conduced by co-president Lois Kremer. Jeanne Erickson gave the secretary report and Dwain Dooley gave the treasury report.

The next meeting will be a 9:30 a.m. brunch at Faith Methodist Church in Libertyville. Hostesses are Laurel Woody, Michelle Weber and Lynda Unkrich. Phyllis Winter will give a program on Pre Restore.

OUR SPECIAL KIDS
Our Special Kids, a support group for parents of special-needs children in southeast Iowa, will hold a Celebrate Summer Event at 6:30 p.m. June 6 at the United Thru Play Playground at the former Saunders School in Mount Pleasant.
The event will include a picnic in the park, seeing old friends, meeting new friends, sharing helpful resources and making summer plans.
Fried chicken, table service and drinks will be provided. Attendees are asked to bring a side dish to share and lawn chairs
Our Special Kids is run by parents and kids for parents and kids, explained Melanie Patton. ?Our mission is to provide support, offer hope and explore opportunities ?together.?
Patton said the group is open to all parents and children, all disabilities, all ages and all towns and schools.
