Aug. 2, 2019 11:40 am
RICHLAND - The Richland Alumni Tea was held July 6 at the Mother Cabrini Hall.
The Woodson Friends served refreshments, and 64 alumni and guests spent the afternoon visiting and reminiscing.
President Shirley Niece gave the welcome, and Dean Elmore gave the opening and closing prayers. Niece presented a program and then entertained everyone with gag gifts. John Gould, who traveled the furthest, received a pillow to sit on. Everyone wearing their class ring received a Dum Dum sucker. Carroll Steinbeck, who was the oldest, received a coffee mug decorated with 'You're how old?” Bill Wolf, who was the youngest, got a baby bottle. Karen Reinier Voelkel, who had the most grandchildren, received a plastic bat and ear plugs. Bob Snow, who had the most great-grandchildren, got a package of M&M's.
Table decorations were place mats with a picture of the school on them, miniature school desks made by Dick Downey, school annuals, and vases of long-stemmed white roses. Each woman present received a rose.
Next year's tea will be July 18 at the Mother Cabrini Hall, with the Trinity Friends serving refreshments.
