Ericson family
The Ericson family reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Lockridge Senior Citizen Center.
Barnhart-Roach family
On Sunday, July 28, the 51st Barnhart-Roach Reunion was held at the Batavia Center in Batavia where elder Clara Agnes Barnhart Swihart resides. Bob and Joyce Perkins (daughter), Larry Wilson (son) and friends JoEllen and Deal Keasling and children, Brooke, Hayleigh and Kaylee also reside in Batavia.
The life of Bradley Owen Perkins, the eldest grandson of Agnes and son of the Perkins, was acknowledged. He passed in April 2018. Brad loved the Old West, wearing western gear, reading western books and country music.
Donna Wilson, wife of Larry, died March 14, 2019. Agnes said, 'I miss her strong spirit and phone calls filled with laughter. Donna was a beautician, crocheted and a lover of people. She was often seen in the community with her beloved dog Puppette.
This year, niece Theresa Barnhart and husband John Radachowsky came from Danbury, Connecticut. She is the daughter of Ralph Barnhart who is Agnes' youngest brother. They had been on a long trip to the west coast with many stops along the way to visit family, friends and to explore America with their dog Darla.
Others in attendance were; William Shields of Fairfield, Dixie Mooney of Ottumwa, Matt and Ashley Wilson and children, Shelby, Makayla, Jazmyne all of Eddyville, Denise and sons Brandon Beyer, Mason Spoelstra and children Natalia, Emmanuel, Ember, Lucian of Pella, Teena Roush of Newton, Justin and Shannon Erhlich with children Xavier, Azalea, Zoe, Melody of Ankeny, Evelyn Jackson and Sandra White of Grand River, Beckey, McAlexander and children Greyson, Kenzi, Braxton of Ellston, Sherri Hall and children Torriana, Jayleeyah of Fort Dodge, Joshua and Kerri Hall of Cedar Rapids, Jazzmin and Matt Wyatt of Muscatine, Derric and Alana Wilson and children Airalyn, Kehtyn, Eastyn, Emmalyn of Independence, Cecil Jr. and Sue Clark of New Hampton, Missouri.
The potluck was varied considering the family has its own chef, Sherri Hall and all of her children who have great cooking skills, too. Evelyn Jackson prepared chicken and noodles and there were many other tasty dishes. It was a fun filled day.
Fifty-two family members were in attendance.
