REUNIONS: Fleig family

July 28 will mark the 79th consecutive year that descendants of Johann Jakob Fleig (1847-1928) and Anna Katharina (Heisner) (Mark) Fleig (1843-1926) have celebrated the Fleig family by meeting for a reunion.

The reunion will be at the Rubio Community Building, with visiting starting at 11 a.m. and a cooperative meal at noon. A business meeting will follow, and the reunion will close with the usual serving of ice cream.

Present family members from the fourth- through eighth-generations include the following surnames: Augustine, Gottman, Bloomquist, Morgan, McDowell, Merritt, Arnold, Steinbeck, Hess, Graybill, Woolums, Lyons, Harrison, Archer, McMorris, Elmore, Hoeksema, McKown, McKim, O'Toole, Den Hartog, Nordyke, Underwood, Marshall, Witte, Smith, Downey, Blough, Emerson, Goodrich, Cannon, Wells, Schmidt, Stewart, Kurnes, Karsjens, London, Speas, Dorvis, Iles, Robison, Sheldon, Lundy, Hawkins, Haley, Case, Taylor and any missed, two branches of Miller and at least 11 branches that retain the Fleig name.

All family members locally, across the United States and in Germany are encouraged to attend.
