Riversdie special city election Dec. 11, 2018

A special election is scheduled for Dec. 11, 2018, in Riverside to fill a position on the Riverside City Council.

First day to vote absentee in the Washington County Auditor's office in Washington (no sooner than 29 days before election): As soon as ballots are ready (probably on Nov. 19)

First day to mail absentee ballots: As soon as ballots are ready (probably on Nov. 19)

Worry-free postmark date for pre-registration: Monday, Nov. 26

Deadline to pre-register in person for election (Auditor's office open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.): Friday, Nov. 30, 5 p.m.

Deadline to request an absentee ballot be mailed (Auditor's office open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.): Friday, Nov. 30, 5 p.m.

Deadline to postmark original of fax or email ballot request (original must be received by the time polls close on Election Day): Friday, Nov. 30.

Last day Auditor's office reviews absentee ballots for deficiencies: Friday, Dec. 7, 5 p.m.

Deadline to challenge absentee voter: Friday, Dec. 7, 5 p.m.

Postmark deadline for absentee ballots: Monday, Dec. 10

Deadline for voter to 'correct” defective absentee envelope. (Auditor's office open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. if there are outstanding defective ballots, otherwise open until 4:30 p.m.): Monday, Dec. 10, 5 p.m.

Last day to vote absentee in person: Tuesday, Dec. 11, 11 a.m.

Election Day: Tuesday, Dec. 11 – polls open noon to 8 p.m.

Deadline for provisional voter to bring in evidence that ballot should be counted: Monday, Dec. 17, noon

Ballots that were postmarked by Dec. 10 must be received by Auditor by noon: Monday, Dec. 17
