Robert Lee Helmick

Robert Lee Helmick, 58, of Donnellson, died on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at his home.

Friends may call after noon on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home, in Donnellson, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., that afternoon. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home, in Donnellson, with Rev. Bill Willis officiating. Burial will be at the Argyle Memorial Garden.

Helmick was born on July 6, 1957, the son of Walter and Mary (Rempe) Helmick. He was married to Lisa Gabel, but they later divorced.

He was a 1977 graduate of Central Lee High School. He worked as a diesel mechanic at Reilly Construction and then worked for WM Johnson Trucking for 25 years.

He enjoyed antique tractor pulling, John Wayne movies, Farmall and Oliver tractors, camping at Western Illinois Old Threshers, raising cattle and living on the farm.

Helmick is survived by one son, Todd Robert (Jess Nolan) Helmick, of Donnellson; one daughter, Holly LeAnn (Seith Boudreau) Helmick, of Farmington; his mother, Mary Helmick, of Argyle; one sister, Carol Helmick, of Argyle; and one brother, David (Linda) Helmick, of Argyle.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter; and his grandparents.
