Rosanna T. ?Rosie? Schinstock, 85, of Houghton, died on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at the West Point Care Center.
Friends may call after 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Houghton, where there will be a Rosary recited at 3 p.m., and a Christian wake service at 7 p.m. The family will meet with friends from 5 until 7 p.m., at the church. Rosanna T. ?Rosie? Schinstock, 85, of Houghton, died on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at the West Point Care Center.
Friends may call after 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Houghton, where there will be a Rosary recited at 3 p.m., and a Christian wake service at 7 p.m. The family will meet with friends from 5 until 7 p.m., at the church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Houghton, with Rev. Bruce DeRammelaere as celebrant. Burial will be in St. John?s Cemetery in Houghton
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John?s Catholic Church or Lee County Hospice. Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in West Point is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.schmitzlynkfuneralhome.com.
Schinstock was born on Oct. 14, 1930, at Ft. Madison, the daughter of Albert and Anna Sallen Stohlmeier. On Nov. 27, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Ft. Madison, she married Edward Francis Schinstock.
She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, in Ft. Madison. Following graduation, she worked for the Sheaffer Pen Company.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Houghton.
She enjoyed playing euchre, bingo, traveling, gardening, visiting with neighbors and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Schinstock is survived by her four sons, Larry (Sue) Schinstock, of Salem; Dale (Terri) Schinstock, of Urbandale; Ken Schinstock, of Salem; and Randy (Sharon) Schinstock, of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Kathy (Wayne) Walljasper, of St. Paul; seven grandchildren; and her sister, Sister Dorothy Stohlmeier, of Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; and one daughter, Joan Margaret.
