Jen Osby, left, and Tammy Jones, co-chairwomen of the Rotary of Fairfield?s Auction Committee, present Lt. Jerry Marcellus of the Fairfield Sheriff?s Office with a $8,750 check for the sheriff?s office Special Assistance Team for radio hands-free body mikes for better communication. The radios will be used by Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office and Fairfield Police Department. The radios increase communication skills for high-risk situations in which the same frequency will be shared by Washington County, Sniper unit, command staff and team members. The Rotary?s auction committee gave $5,000 and the Rotary Foundation, through a matching grant fund, gave $3,750 toward the community project.
