Fairfield Rotary Club treasurer Judith Cox, left, presents a $1,500 check to Sally Farrier from the Ottumwa Crisis Center and Women?s Shelter Friday. For several years, the Rotary Club of Fairfield has conducted a Christmas fundraiser for both the crisis center and women?s shelter and The Lord?s Cupboard. Cox spearheaded the fundraiser with the help of many Rotarians. In 2012, the Rotary Club received a $2,000 grant from the Rotary Foundation to support services provided by this organization. The grant was matched by $2,000 with contributions from the First United Methodist Church, First National Bank of Fairfield and the Rotary Club raising the total amount to $4,000. Rotarian Francis G. Mossé said thanks also goes to the many community businesses that contributed to the cause.
