Running club earns nine medals
KEOSAUQUA ? In a steady rain and windy conditions Sunday, 10 members of the M.U.M. Running Club took part in the annual race at Lacey-Keosauqua State Park in Keosauqua.

KEOSAUQUA ? In a steady rain and windy conditions Sunday, 10 members of the M.U.M. Running Club took part in the annual race at Lacey-Keosauqua State Park in Keosauqua.
In the 5-kilometer race, Jason von Miller was second overall and first in the 30-34 age group (19:47), and Steve Pedrick finished second in the same division with a time of 22:47. Hernan Posada, club president, finished second in the 15-19 division (24:06), while Shane Orne was first in the 50-64 age group (30:22). Rick Dunstan, meanwhile, was the fastest male in the 50-64 division (41:16).
Sascha Kyssa finished second overall and first in the 20-34 division of the 10-kilometer race (40:44), followed by club coach Pete Mannisi, who won the 65-plus division in 41:46. Brian Glassett was second in the 20-34 group (41:56), and Jim Mitchell earned a second-place medal in the 35-49 group (49:51). Oscar Gutierrez completed the course third in the 20-34 group with a time of 56:27.
?All the club members ran great in spite of the rain, wind and major hills on the course,? said Mannisi.
The local running club will take part in the Park and Rec?s Turkey Trot in November.
