Lt. j.g. Patrick A. Rupe, son of Martin and Cindy Rupe of rural Bladensburg and the grandson of Mary Catherine Adam of Fairfield and the late Walter Adam, has earned his wings as a naval aviator.

Lt. j.g. Patrick A. Rupe, son of Martin and Cindy Rupe of rural Bladensburg and the grandson of Mary Catherine Adam of Fairfield and the late Walter Adam, has earned his wings as a naval aviator.
Rupe graduated from Ottumwa High School in 2003 and University of Northern Iowa in 2008. He taught school for a year at Ottumwa High School, In August 2009, he entered Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I., and graduated in November 2009. He was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla., and completed Naval Flight Officer training in October. He received his ?Wings of Gold,? which were pinned on him by his wife Amanda Mujica Rupe.
Rupe is currently stationed at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, Va., and was selected to fly F/A-18F Super Hornets.
