S.H.A.R.E. food orders due Sept. 7
Orders are due Sept. 7 for the S.H.A.R.E. Iowa Inc. food packages available in September.
Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org. The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. Sept. 22 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.

Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org. The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. Sept. 22 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.
Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.
The $25 ?best value? package includes lean ground beef, chicken breast strips, Hillshire Farms all-pork and beef split smoked sausages, chicken thighs, Bonser home-style noodles, broccoli/corn/red pepper vegetable mix and fresh seasonal produce.
The $13.50 grocery package includes Bonser home-style noodles, broccoli/corn/red pepper vegetable mix and fresh seasonal produce.
The $13.50 meat-only package includes lean ground beef, chicken breast strips, Hillshire Farms all-pork and beef split smoked sausages, chicken thighs.
The $30 baking/pantry box includes sugar, brown sugar, powdered sugar, spray oil, flour, walnuts, raisins, baking soda, vanilla, Crisco, cinnamon, baking mix, oatmeal, peanut butter, vanilla chips, chocolate chips and mini marshmallows.
The $22 Sea Pak special includes Alaskan salmon burgers and jumbo butterfly shrimp with crunchy breading.
The $20 breakfast box includes Mrs. Smith?s bacon, egg and cheese breakfast bites, Mrs. Smith?s ham, egg and cheese breakfast bites, Cascadian Farm organic hash browns, pancake sticks and hardwood smoked bacon or bone-in-center cut ham steaks.
The $23 grill box has choice sirloin steaks, hamburger, boneless pork chops and chicken breast fillets.
Participants who order one of the main food packages also have the option to order ?choice? items.
The four choice items for September are: 12 sausage, egg and cheese croissants for $10; 12 barbecued pork rib sandwiches for $10; three pounds of chicken breasts for $6; and 24.4 ounces of Chicken Ringo?s for $5.
Food packages are subject to changes.
The nonprofit food-buying organization offers meal food packages at reduced costs through its volunteer-run distribution system. Participants do not have to meet income guidelines. Participants are asked to volunteer at least two hours to an activity of their choice.
