S.H.A.R.E. Iowa food orders due before Feb. 7

Orders are due before Feb. 7 for the S.H.A.R.E. Iowa Inc. food packages available in February.

Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org.

The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. Feb. 22 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.

Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.

The $25 ?best value? package includes: 0.79 pound of fully cooked jumbo all beef and pork smoked sausage; 1 pound grilled diced chicken breast; 1.5 pounds Hormel Always Tender pork roast; four 2.5-ounces fully cooked barbecued pulled-chicken mini sandwiches; 20 ounces frozen winter-blend vegetables; 12 ounces Bonser?s homestyle noodles; and seasonal produce assortment.

The $13.50 grocery package includes: 20 ounces frozen winter-blend vegetables; 12 ounces Bonser?s homestyle noodles; and seasonal produce assortment.

The $13.50 meat-only package includes: 0.79 pound of fully cooked jumbo all beef and pork smoked sausage; 1 pound grilled diced chicken breast; 1.5 pounds Hormel Always Tender pork roast; and four 2.5-ounces fully cooked barbecued pulled-chicken mini sandwiches.

The $15 breakfast sandwich package includes 12 4.4-ounce egg, cheese and chicken sausage patty between two whole-gain pancakes.

The $18 charbroiled beef burgers package includes 18 5-ounce fully cooked, grill-marked hamburgers.

The $19 pasta box includes: 18 ounces stuffed shells; 18 ounces stuffed manicotti; 13 ounces ravioli; 16 ounces tricolor tortellini; 12 ounces sun-dried tomato stuffed ziti; 12 ounces spinach and cheese stuffed zita; and 13 ounces potato and cheddar pierogies.

The $21 seafood box includes: 1.5 pounds buttermilk breaded shrimp; four 4-ounce salmon fillets; four 4-ounce perch fillets; and four 4-ounce cod fillets.

Participants who order one of the seven main food packages also have the option to order ?choice? items.

The choice items for February are:

? An $8 grill pack, which includes: two 4-ounce beef steaks; two 4-ounce pork chops; and two 4-ounce chicken breasts.

? A $12 frozen vegetable box, which includes: two 12-ounce packages each of broccoli, corn, a winter blend of broccoli and cauliflower and a summer blend of squash, green beans, red pepper and carrots.

? A $6 chicken breast nuggets package, which includes 2 pounds of ready-to-cook nuggets.

? A $7 apple pie and cinnamon rolls box, which includes a 10-inch, 48-ounce, ready-to-bake, double-crust apple pie and a 22-ounce package of gourmet cinnamon rolls.

Food packages are subject to changes.

The nonprofit food-buying organization offers meal food packages at reduced costs through its volunteer-run distribution system. Participants do not have to meet income guidelines. Participants are asked to volunteer at least two hours to an activity of their choice.
