S.H.A.R.E. Iowa Inc., a nonprofit food-buying organization, is offering holiday meal food packages at reduced costs in November and December through its volunteer-run distribution system.
Self Help And Resource Exchange officials say the food packages help save time and money so the focus can be on what really is important: celebrating the season with loved ones.
The holiday dinner packages come with all the fixings for a family of six.
Each dinner package is a complete wholesome meal.
The Christmas dinner package features a 6-pound boneless honey ham, potatoes, gravy and dinner rolls.
The fresh produce will include broccoli, celery, carrots, apples and oranges. An apple pie completes the meal.
Orders can be placed beginning Nov. 19. Pickup is set for Dec. 17 at the Eagles Club.
Those ordering food packages are not required to meet income guidelines, but it is recommended they volunteer two hours of time toward community service of their own choosing.
For information call Claudia Greenig at 472-3569 or the organization?s main office at 800-344-1107.
