S.H.A.R.E. orders due before Aug. 10

Orders are due beofre Aug. 10 for the S.H.A.R.E. Iowa Inc. food packages available in August.

Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org. The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. Aug. 25 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.

Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.

The $25 ?best value? package includes fully cooked steak strips, all beef and pork meatloaf patties, teriyaki-flavor pork tenderloin, beef smoked rope sausage, potato smiles hashbrowns, apple muffins and fresh seasonal produce.

The $13.50 grocery package includes potato smiles hashbrowns, apple muffins and fresh seasonal produce.

The $13.50 meat-only package includes fully cooked steak strips, all beef and pork meatloaf patties, teriyaki-flavor pork tenderloin and beef smoked rope sausage.

The $18 pork sausage and pancake wraps package has 60 pork sausage links wrapped in blueberry pancakes.

The $24 suppertime entrees has two 16-ounce grilled chicken with tomato basil sauce; two 16-ounce lasagna with meat sauce; two 16-ounce chicken parmesan over pasta; and two 16-ounce turkey medalions with vegetables and roasted potatoes.

The $15.50 chicken breast strips package has 5 pounds of fully cooked chicken breasts strips with grill marks.

The $19 streak package has eight thick-cut sirloins.

Participants who order one of the main food packages also have the option to order ?choice? items.

The choice items for August include: a 5-pound package of hash brown triangle wedges for $6.25; 12 individually wrapped double cheeseburgers for $9; a 10-ounce package of chicken bites; and a $3.50 prebaked apple pie. Food packages are subject to changes.

The nonprofit food-buying organization offers meal food packages at reduced costs through its volunteer-run distribution system. Participants do not have to meet income guidelines. Participants are asked to volunteer at least two hours to an activity of their choice.
