S.H.A.R.E. packages announced for May
Participants in the S.H.A.R.E. food program are requested to order and pay by May 14 for the month?s food packages by calling the Neighborhood Center at 472-6140 or St. Mary Catholic Church from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 472-3179.
Food pick up day is scheduled for 8 a.m. May 30 at the Eagles Club.
The May Best Value Package is offered for $22 and includes the following food items: one pound bacon, four Tyson pulled pork

The May Best Value Package is offered for $22 and includes the following food items: one pound bacon, four Tyson pulled pork and provolone wraps, eight ounces of cooked corned beef deli, one pound of grilled turkey breasts, one pound of frozen beef ravioli, 25 ounces of pasta sauce, eight ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese, seven ounces of raspberry muffin mix and assorted fresh fruit and vegetables.
The Grill Package is offered for $17.50 and includes the following items: four 5-ounce ball tip steaks, four 5-ounce pork tenderloins, one pound hamburger patties, one pound boneless chicken breasts.
The Meat Only Package is offered for $12. The amount of meat offered can be doubled with the purchase of the April Best Value Package.
The choice offered item is three pounds of boneless, skinless, individually frozen, ready to cook chicken breast fillets.
S.H.A.R.E. stands for Self Help And Resource Exchange and is a private, not-for-profit organization that offers food packages at substantial savings.
Participants can save up to 50 percent on food by purchasing groceries from S.H.A.R.E.
Participants are not required to meet income guidelines, but it is requested that they volunteer two hours of their time toward community service of their own choosing.
Community service examples include helping an organization, church, the S.H.A.R.E. program, visiting a shut-in, helping a neighbor or being involved with kids? school activities.
To participate, contact one of the local sites listed, volunteer two hours in the community before the food pick up date and then pick up the food.
