Sacha Club meets at Ainsworth Community Church

Seven members of the Sacha Club met September 23, 2024 at the Ainsworth Community Church for their regular meeting.
President Brenda Bean opened the meeting and welcomed everyone to the new year. Linda McNeil read the minutes of the May meeting that were recorded by Jolene Colthurst and they were approved as read. The treasurer's report was given by Karen Megchelsen. Two scholarship checks have been mailed and received by seniors from the Ainsworth area. Bills presented to Kelsey Goff for the Treasure Trek advertisement for the Craft Show to be held November 2, 2024 and items that had been purchased by Brenda for the annual Easter Egg Hunt were approved.
Correspondence: Jolene had sent get well cards to Ann Freyenberger and Linda Lord for their recent surgeries.
Old Business: The Bulletin Board for the City Hall area was discussed. Linda Lord, Jolene Colthurst and Jenna Gerot met and decided on the item and Jenna will order it and get it put up.
Election of Officers: Jennie Gerot made a motion to retain current officers for another year. They are: President: Brenda Bean; Vice President: Jolene Colthurst; Secretary: Linda McNeil; Treasurer: Karen Megchelsen and Historian: Linda Lord. All agreed to continue in their roles. Dues are $20 for the year.
Wording for the new books will read as follows for the friendship guidelines: Send appropriate cards to members and their family. In the event of the death of a member, send flowers or a memorial. Jolene made a motion to approve the new wording and Karen seconded it. The motion carried.
New Business: Halloween Hike at Marr Park on October 12 from 6-7:30 p.m. Members are to have cookies there on Friday or by noon Saturday.
Program and Committee sign-ups were completed.
Brenda reported several spaces have been rented for the Annual Craft Show which is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Highland High School.
The meeting adjourned with the Club Collect. Refreshments were served by Linda McNeil.
CHAPTER L T.T.T.
Nine members of Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society met on Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Olds United Church of Christ. The meeting opened with the singing of the Sword of Gold.
Roll call was answered by each telling their favorite T.V. show or book author.
The minutes of the July 2024 meeting were approved as read.
Correspondence:
President Shelman shared articles from the Tidings and the State Board newsletter. Topics included the Chapter's grant writer, sending in camp pictures, By-law proposals, serving on the national board, the upcoming National Convention, Violet awards, local new members and the are ten camps nationwide. This year 244 girls attended the camps.
Information was given in regards to the upcoming Zoom Call.
Pat Miller shared a thank you from a past camper and Missy Fear gave updates on two members. She also made sure the memorial pillow was at Helen Mullen's service.
The treasurer's report was submitted by Missy Fear and will be filed for audit.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Auditing: Karolyn Crawford and Marlys Fear will be auditing the books in the near future.
Camp: President Shelman has some beach towels for next year's camp girls and inquired if anyone had names of potential campers for 2025.
Bus transportation was discussed for the coming year.
Nancy McGohan received a survey in an email to be completed by this summer's campers. She will see that they get the link for this information.
Charity: Nothing.
Camp Girls' Gifts: Pat Miller had sent four cards.
Ways and Means: Karolyn Crawford reported on the fundraising opportunity at Pizza Ranch.
New Business: Discussion was held concerning the chapter's game night/meeting with the Wayland Chapter, which this group plans to do.
Missy Fear shared the budget for the upcoming year. A motion was made and seconded to approve the budget. Officers for the upcoming year were next on the agenda. A motion was made and seconded to keep the current officers, as well.
Old Business: None.
Bills for Payment: There was a bill for five gift cards. A motion was made and seconded to allow this.
Proposal of Names for Membership: None.

President Shelman thanked those who attended. She served apple crisp with ice cream for refreshments.
The next meeting will be Monday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Old United Church of Christ. Joan Rodgers will be hostess.
