Salts to celebrate 95th birthday
Ruth Salts of St. Joseph, Mo., formerly of Jefferson County, is turning 95 years old.
Alice Ruth Koontz was born Aug. 5, 1916, to Ross and Pearl Koontz of rural Fairfield. She married the late Roy Salts in 1940. Mrs. Salts retired in 1980 from a teaching career that spanned 37 years in Jefferson County schools. She recently moved to Missouri to be near her family.

Ruth Salts of St. Joseph, Mo., formerly of Jefferson County, is turning 95 years old.
Alice Ruth Koontz was born Aug. 5, 1916, to Ross and Pearl Koontz of rural Fairfield. She married the late Roy Salts in 1940. Mrs. Salts retired in 1980 from a teaching career that spanned 37 years in Jefferson County schools. She recently moved to Missouri to be near her family.
Her children are Rita Whipple and husband Steve of Cosby, Mo. Mrs. Salts has two grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
