The Washington County Extension Office held a ?Scales and Tales? Day Camp on June 16 at New Dawn at Sunset in Washington. The day was full of fun and excitement, learning about amphibians and reptiles. Around 15 kindergarten and first graders attended the camp.
The campers learned the differences between amphibians and reptiles and reviewed this knowledge with a scavenger hunt. They also felt the difference between amphibian and reptile eggs and skin. The campers made amphibian eggs using Jell-o and water droppers, created a model of a turtle, and painted a wooden snake. It was a fun day of crafts and experiments!
Leader for the camp was Extension Staff Jodi Ebert with help from members of the Washington 4-H County Council and Leadership Development Team.
