Quinn Buckingham, of the Washington High School Graduating Class of 2017, has been awarded the prestigious P.E.O. STAR Scholarship for the 2017-2018 academic year. She was chosen as one of 520 recipients out of 1,868 applications submitted nationally.
Quinn is the daughter of Roger and Deb Buckingham of Brighton, and was recommended for this scholarship by P.E.O. Chapter OC of Washington. Quinn will attend University of North Dakota at Grand Forks where she plans to study commercial aviation and unmanned aircraft systems beginning this fall.
The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success.
The program is open to young women who are citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States or Canada and who are graduating high school seniors at the time of application. A student must be recommended by a P.E.O. Chapter.
