Scholarship winners announced
The Washington Soil and Water Conservation District is pleased to announce the winners of the 2016 Dean Gerot Memorial Conservation Scholarship. The winners were selected from applicants across the county. The scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing further education in fields of agriculture or natural resources. Selection is based on leadership, academic achievement, and service.

The winners were selected from applicants across the county. The scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing further education in fields of agriculture or natural resources. Selection is based on leadership, academic achievement, and service.
This year?s scholarships are awarded to Keiffer Sexton and Noah Altenhofen. Each will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Keiffer is the son of Lyle and Stephanie Sexton of Ainsworth. Sexton will attend Western Illinois University and pursue a degree in animal science. His application was forwarded onto regional and state competition.
Noah Altenhofen is the son of Robert and Julie Altenhofen of Wellman. Noah will attend Iowa State University and pursue a degree in agricultural studies.
