Scholarships awarded
The First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield recently awarded its scholarships for 2012. Awards are given both to graduating high school seniors and to those continuing their educational careers.
Shannon Cochran, graduating from Fairfield High School Sunday, received a Presbyterian Scholarship. She will study opera and musical performance at Northern Arizona University.

The First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield recently awarded its scholarships for 2012. Awards are given both to graduating high school seniors and to those continuing their educational careers.
Shannon Cochran, graduating from Fairfield High School Sunday, received a Presbyterian Scholarship. She will study opera and musical performance at Northern Arizona University.
Continuing students Maryn Fulton, at Upper Iowa University; Wilson Ghent at Central College; Liza Pergiel at Kirkwood Community College; and Nykole Thacker at Illinois Institute of Art, also received Presbyterian Scholarships.
Thomas Welker, a student at Universal Technical Institute, received the Sharon Dailey Memorial Scholarship, given each year by Don Dailey and his family.
Emily Gleason, a student at Iowa State University who plans to enter medical school following graduation, received the newly-created Dr. Robert A. Ryan Memorial Scholarship, made possible by a bequest from Dr. Ryan?s estate.
The First Presbyterian Scholarship Fund was established in July 1996. As of this year, 52 Presbyterian Scholarships in the total amount of $33,250 have been awarded by the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield.
In addition, 11 Sharon Dailey Memorial Scholarships in the total amount of $5,500 have been awarded to local students.
