Science fair winners
Taylor and Payton Lock of Packwood competed in the State Science and Technology Fair of Iowa March 31 in Ames. Their project was a study of weed resistance to glyphosate. They are students at Pekin Junior High. The girls competed in both the seminar competition, as well as a general Science team. Taylor and Payton Lock of Packwood competed in the State Science and Technology Fair of Iowa March 31 in Ames. Their project was a study of weed resistance to glyphosate. They are students at Pekin Junior High. The girls competed in both the seminar competition, as well as a general Science team. The twin sisters were awarded first place eighth-grade Team Seminar and first place eighth-grade team. Additionally, they were awarded the Overall Junior High Grand Champions. For winning the Iowa Science Fair, they are now eligable to compete in the National Science Fair in Washington, D.C.
