The Fairfield Community School District 2nd grade students spent the afternoon and evening of March 6 at Jefferson County Park for the first Day Into Night field trip. Students arrived at 1 p.m. and had the option of staying until 8 p.m. for evening sessions.
Highlights were learning about owls, discovering different nocturnal animals, seeing the moon through the telescope, night hikes, and eating s'mores! Making the event possible were the second grade teachers and staff at Pence, volunteers, chaperones, and local businesses who sponsored the supper.
