If you love Iowa, come to the library. This month we have programs focused on Iowa.
Recently, the library hosted its first book reading in over a year. “Riding With My Dad” by Dr. Ninja (aka veterinarian Mike Todd) is this local author’s first book. It was fun to hear the book read aloud, as it is always fun to be read to.
What makes it more interesting is that the stories are from a child’s point of view, helping his father who was a veterinarian, too.
Another program coming Sept. 9 is a presentation by Jim Cuddeback, “Farming: 1840s to Today in Iowa.”
I know we are interested in all aspects of our state’s agricultural industry. He is well known in our community and has been very generous allowing groups, such as Leadership Washington, visit his farm.
We will have a book discussion using books on Iowa that we have in our library. Please come in to choose which book most interests you.
Lastly, Tom Milligan will be presenting “American Dreamer: The Life and Times of Henry A. Wallace.” He was the country’s Secretary of Agriculture 1933-1940, making a positive impact to Iowa in that position.
Iowa impacts the world, and we are lucky to be part of it.
