Series of area blood drives kicks off Monday at Fairfield church
Several Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center blood drives are scheduled in the area during March.
First United Methodist Church will host a blood drive from 2-6:30 p.m. Monday in the church?s downstairs dining room. Donors who last gave blood on or before Jan. 9 are eligible to give again. Walk-in donors are welcome, but those who prefer to set an appointment can call Doris Eklund at 472-4303.

Two blood drives are scheduled for March 6. The first is set 3-7 p.m. at the Batavia Senior Citizen/Community Center. The second is set from 3-7 p.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building. Donors who last gave on or before Jan. 10 are eligible to give again March 6. Walk-in donors are welcome at both the blood drives, but those who prefer to set an appointment can call 800-452-1097.
A blood drive is set from 10:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. March 7 in the Pekin High School gym. Donors who last gave on or before Jan. 11 are eligible to give again. Walk-in donors are welcome, but to schedule an appointment, contact a student council member, teacher Tim Magill or call 800-452-1097.
The Van Buren High School National Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 9 at the high school gym in Keosauqua. Those who last gave on or before Jan. 13 are eligible to donate again. Walk-ins are welcome, but to set an appointment, contact on honor society member or call 800-452-1097.
