Seventeen Mid-Prairie Speech entries going to State

Mid-Prairie?s speech team competed at District level Individual Events Speech contest Saturday, Feb. 27, in Fairfield. Seventeen of the team?s 22 entries received ?I? ratings and will compete at state contest, Saturday, March 12 at North Scott High School in Eldridge.

Four of the 13 speakers going to State qualified in both events in which they were entered: Abby Pickard (Acting and Poetry), Rhett Leonard (Improv and After-Dinner Speaking), Hannah Van Roekel (Acting and Storytelling), and Elijah Meader (Poetry and Reviewing). Also going to State are Nolan Bertelli (Improv), Joshua Allen (Radio News Announcing), Isaac Yoder (Reviewing), Ciana Carr (Literary Program), Olivia Quinby (Public Address), Isaiah Sents (After-Dinner Speaking), Taylor Hillbrand (Solo Musical Theater), Gina Waters (Prose), and Aleigha Gugel (Prose).
