SHARE food orders due Friday

Orders are due before Friday for the SHARE Iowa Inc. food packages available in May.

Orders can be placed by calling the Sieda office at 472-6140, Claudia Greenig at 472-3569 or SHARE Oskaloosa at 800-344-1107.

Pickup will be at 8 a.m. May 30 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.

Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.

The $25 ?best value? package includes: 1 pound of 80 percent lean ground beef; 14 ounces of Farmer John fully cooked smoked sausage with bacon; 1.4 pounds of chicken thighs; 21 ounces of Birds Eye Voila chicken penne and vegetable skillet meal; 1 pound of frozen cut broccoli; and fresh seasonal produce assortment.

The $13.50 grocery package includes: 1 pound of frozen cut broccoli; and fresh seasonal produce assortment.

The $13.50 meat-only package includes: 1 pound of 80 percent lean ground beef; 14 ounces of Farmer John fully cooked smoked sausage with bacon; 1.4 pounds of chicken thighs; and 21 ounces of Birds Eye Voila chicken penne and vegetable skillet meal.

The $21 Breakfast Box includes: 2 pounds of French toast sticks; 3.5 pounds of hash browns; 1 pound bacon; 13 ounces of sausage patties; four individually wrapped egg, sausage and cheese flatbreads; and four individually wrapped honey buns.

The $18 Pasta Box includes: 8 ounces of stuffed shells; 13 ounces of large cheese ravioli; 18 ounces of stuffed manicotti; 16 ounces of tricolored tortellini; 12 ounces of cheese stuffed rigatoni; 13 ounces of potato and cheese pierogis; and 13 ounces of potato with Swiss and Monterey Jack pierogis.

The $25 Rib Eye Steak Box includes: six 8-ounce USDA choice rib eye steaks.

The $24.50 Grill Box includes: a 2-pound box of Holten thick and juicy hamburgers; four 4-ounce, individually wrapped, boneless pork chops; four 4-ounce, individually wrapped, boneless, skinless chicken breast; and two 8-ounce, individually wrapped, USDA choice rib eye steaks.

Participants who order one of the main food packages also have the option to order ?choice? items.

The choice items for May are:

? An $18 Pizza Box, with 24 7.9-ounce pepperoni pizzas with self-rising crust.

? A $10 Boneless Pork Loin package, with a 4-pound Farmland boneless pork loin.

? An $11 Shullsburg Cheese Picnic Pak, with 8 ounces of string cheese; a 12-ounce bag of yellow and white mixed cheese curds; and 10 ounces of Cojack burger slices.

? A $16.50 roast dinner package, with a 2.5 pound chuck roast; frozen cut broccoli; and 2 pounds of steak fries.

Food packages are subject to changes.

SHARE Iowa Inc. is an Iowa-based, volunteer-run food distribution system and has provided individuals and families with nutritious and affordable food packages for nearly 23 years. Through the volunteer distribution system, households can take advantage of up to a 50 percent savings on their groceries in comparison to retail prices.

Participants do not have to meet income guidelines.
