SHARE orders due before Feb. 5

Orders are due before Feb. 5 for the SHARE Iowa Inc. food packages available in February.

Orders can be placed locally by calling the Sieda Community Action office at 472-6140 or Claudia Greenig at 472-3569.

Pickup will be at 8 a.m. Feb. 20 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.

Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.

The $28 Best Value Package includes: 1.26 pounds of mini chicken corn dogs; 30 ounces of ready-to-cook chicken strips; 1 pound of ready-to-cook 80 percent ground beef; 1 pound of Cook?s honey and maple ham steak; four 4-ounce Applesnax applesauce with mixed berries; and an assortment of fresh, seasonal produce.

The $14.50 Grocery Package includes: four 4-ounce Applesnax applesauce with mixed berries; and an assortment of fresh, seasonal produce.

The $14.50 Meat-Only Package includes: 1.26 pounds of mini chicken corn dogs; 30 ounces of ready-to-cook chicken strips; 1 pound of ready-to-cook 80 percent ground beef; 1 pound of Cook?s honey and maple ham steak.

The $24 Pantry Box includes: 24 ounces of pasta sauce; one box of rigatoni; 6 ounces of herb and butter mashed potatoes; 5-ounce can of tuna; 12.5 ounce can of white chicken; 1 pound of dry black beans; 15- ounce can of sweet corn; 15-ounce can of sweet peas; 14.4-ounce can of green beans; 14.75-ounce can of Spaghetti-O?s; 15-ounce can of beef and mac; 10.75 ounces of yellow tomato soup; 15-ounce can of chili with beans; 6-ounce stuffing mix; 10-ounce muffin mix; 10-ounce brownie mix; 16 ounces of peanut butter; 11-ounce can of mandarin oranges; 14-ounce bag of oatmeal; and four 4-ounce Applesnax apple sauce with mixed berries.

The $23 Seafood Box includes: 2 pounds of skin-on salmon fillets; 1 pound tilapia; and 1 pound pollock.

The $21.50 Pasta Box includes: 18 ounces ricotta stuffed shells; 18 ounces manicotti; 13 ounces large round ravioli; 16 ounces tri-color tortellini; 12 ounces stuffed rigatoni; 13 ounces cheddar pierogi; and 13 ounces swiss and Monterey Jack pierogi.

The $23.50 Breaded Chicken Box includes 12 14-ounce packages containing a breast, a thigh and a drumstick.

Participants who order one of the main food packages also have the option to order ?choice? items.

The choice items for February are:

? A Shullsburg Cheese Pack for $15, that includes: 8 ounces each of fancy cheddar shredded cheese, mozzarella shredded cheese, block colby-Jack cheese; block colby cheese; parmesan shaker; and provolone cheese slices.

? A Burger Box for $17.50 that includes 5 pounds of fully cooked bacon cheddar burgers.

? A 3.25-pound Farmland ready-to-cook pork butt roast for $8.

? Two 26-ounce Sara Lee cheesecakes with strawberries for $10.

Food packages are subject to changes.

SHARE Iowa Inc. is an Iowa-based, volunteer-run food distribution system and has provided individuals and families with nutritious and affordable food packages for more than 20 years. Through the volunteer distribution system, households can take advantage of up to a 50 percent savings on their groceries in comparison to retail prices.
