Sheetz/Sheets reunion held

The 97th annual Sheetz/Sheets reunion was held on July 31, 2016, at Lagos Acres in Keota. There were 67 in attendance with littles, middles, olders, and elders who enjoyed the bountiful meal and visiting. Bill Cady was the oldest in attendance (90 11/12 years), and the youngest was Ainsley Jeffries (8 months), daughter of Jessica (Cave) and Sam Jeffries of Kalona.

After the meal, updates of births, weddings, and deaths were entered in the family history book, and everyone introduced their family members to the whole group. A special welcome back was extended to Dennis and Betty Dunbar and their daughter Janelle and her grandson Gabriel Fountain. It was also quite unique to find out that two young families had a son born since the last reunion, and both are named Brecken Patrick.

Mary Jane Hammes from Harper; Joey Sheets of Hiawatha; Julie (Sheetz) Wells of West Chester; Dennis and Betty Dunbar of Muscatine; Janelle Dunbar and Gabriel Fountain of Cedar Rapids; Gloria (Sheets) Lawrence of Coralville; Erin Sheets of North Liberty; Gary and Rosemary (Sheets) Vincent of Carlisle; Karen Teitsworth; Cindy (Sheets) Detweiler and Ron Northup of Washington; Nichole Teitsworth and Alex Abbott of Boone; Andy and Brooke Dahlquist and Addison, Caye, and Jadie of Belle Plaine; Pat and Karmen Cady and Chase, Wyatt, and Delaney of Wellman; Trevor and Jamie Cady and Rylee, Alexa, and Hoyt of Wellman; and Jessica Jeffries and Tate, Kenley, Brynn, and Ainsley of Kalona also attended.

The 98th Sheetz/Sheets reunion will be held the last Sunday in July at Lagos Acres on July 30, 2017.
