Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office responded to an accident at 4:16 p.m. Thursday near Lockridge. Donald James Fillinger of Lockridge was driving a 2003 GMC Sonoma pickup south on Velvetleaf Avenue. Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office responded to an accident at 4:16 p.m. Thursday near Lockridge. Donald James Fillinger of Lockridge was driving a 2003 GMC Sonoma pickup south on Velvetleaf Avenue. Elizabeth Ann Long of Lockridge was driving a 1997 Mercury Sable north on Velvetleaf Avenue; each approached an arc bridge which narrows to one lane over the railroad tracks. The opposite sides of the bridge approaches are not visible from either side until the crest of the bridge. The vehicles collided at the north end of the bridge. The pickup sustained an estimated $3,000 in damages; the Mercury $25,000.
